This part is so good it gives me goosebumps. Mysteriously appearing late yesterday, The Worble put it out in collaboration with Thrasher. I can’t quite put my finger on it, but somehow it captures an aspect of skateboarding that is rarely so well documented without coming off “artsy” or try hard. The sounds of Phillip Glass accompanied by shots of nature and the uninhibited skateboarding of Dave Mull taps into a sense of freedom. With gritty NYC and “urban” montages becoming a bit of a #trend recently, this part skating rural and suburban areas conveys the beauty and loneliness of skateboarding that is all too familiar for anyone that doesn’t live in LA, NYC or any other big city.

This is so sick. I’m from the same area as these guys, just across the lake in New York. I feel like this represents the kind of skating that goes on around here so well. I can’t stop watching it.

“without coming off “artsy” or try hard”???
Really? That is a cool guy comment if I’ve ever heard one. What is wrong with trying hard? I have heard that same phrase uttered in the graffiti world and it’s even more ridiculous in this context.
Nothing wrong with being “artsy” either, my friend.
Anyways, great part and I still love you, Jenkem.
