Leo Romero is in a band called Travesura, which is Spanish for mischief. Josh Harmony also plays music under his name. At some point someone said, “We should do a skate/music trip to Boise, Idaho and call it Noisy in Boise.” I jumped at the chance to tag along and we hit the road, driving from Long Beach to Boise over a couple of days while skating spots along the way. Mike Sinclair lined up a show and a demo in Boise and we were good to go.
Boise seems like a hidden gem in the middle of nowhere. One of those places where people are just living for themselves and making it work their own way. One guy we met, Paul Witworth had just built a skateable pool in his backyard and still had a bit of grass left over. Another guy, Matt Whitlock had a custom car/motorcycle shop in his garage and had built transitions up to his gate and a small quarter pipe next to the garage. They are people who are living the dream basically. We played the show one night and did a demo at a nearby park. The locals took us to some street spots. It was an epic road trip. – Jonathan Mehring
