There are basically no places to skate in New York in the winter, so when KCDC Skateshop hit us up to be involved with their weekly Skate Night series again with NY Skateboarding, Zoo York and Western Digital, it was a no brainer. This year, we’re crashing Coda’s big warehouse in Queens, equipped with a full blown DIY indoor skatepark. The spot has 3 different miniramps (yes, 3), a street section that rivals that of any good skatepark and free drinks for everyone thanks to PBR and Redbull. The only downside is that it does get crowded, so if you plan to come, show up early, bring a board and bring some friends. Skate Night goes off every Thursday, 8-11pm at 21-21 44th Dr. Queens, 11101. Log off of Netflix, put on some pants and come join us.

Getting naughty on the coping
Local hero, Leo Heinert of Torro Skateboards destroyed the ramp and took home some gear. Right here he’s getting handed a Western Digital hard drive as his prize. That’s right. No crappy free T-shirts or pack of stickers at our contests, we give out fuckin’ hard drives!!
Not really sure what’s going on here…
Or here…
A surprising number or chicks, friends, and non-skaters stopped by, which is always refreshing. You can only talk about the newest skate part on Thrasher or make fun of Nyjah Huston for so long until you just feel like a bitter old skate nerd.
Mad Agressive.
No fun at Skatenight. No smiling. No laughing.
As much as I’d like to claim that surgical facemasks are the newest trend, these chicks are actually wearing masks because in a corner of the park there’s some crusty Asbestos. At the door we hand out these little masks for anyone that wants them. Hopefully it helps? You tell me.
Uhhh…Yeah….
As I mentioned before, we have not one, but three full miniramps at different sizes. Skate here every Thursday and become a certified MiniMaster™.
Hire DJ Smoke LES for all your DJ Needs. Specialties include: Weddings, Bar Mitzvahs, Anniversaries and School Dances. Very nice price for you. Terrorist ensemble optional.
A proper Crooked grind over the top. Or is it Krooked grind? I know there’s some skate nerd / historian out there that’s gonna be pissed about our spelling.
Obligatory “artsy” Brooklyn PBR shot.

No, you don’t. It’s become a nightmare. And not in a good way. An actual nightmare. The NY that is now is like a Friends episode of the real NY.
