What’s this? We interrupt our usual Jenkem Mix broadcasting for a special mixtape, cut up and selected by our older homies, Neil Nice and Eddie IXL. All plucked from classic 90s video parts, the first half is all hip-hop joints and the second half is a mix of funk, soul, jazz and reggae. Tunes from 20 Shot Sequence, Trilogy, FTC, Mouse, Las Nueve Vidas De Paco, Eastern Exposure and many many more. Neil wanted to pay homage to the videos that shaped his and an entire generation of skater’s musical tastes growing up. To keep the grit and nostalgia of the time, there’s sounds, samples (tiiigerstyle), and quick scratches and cuts as a nod to 90s turntablism. And to keep it raw, all skating sounds in the mix are sampled from Eastern Exposure Zero.

I wish the comment section was longer so i would have something to read while listening. All we need is some dumb kid to comment about how nobody cares about skateboarding music from the 90s or somethin to spark it off.

Super good selections on this! That flow from Sal Barbier’s section in questionable… Quim Cardona freestyle… Casual “I see thee Billy club”… Just to name a few things that took me back. Thanks for the mix and love the skating noise of course.
