When you think of Welcome, you probably think of Arizona or the Pacific Northwest and “trendy” kids who are still obsessed with goofy no comply variations. To my surprise, Jason Salillas is pretty far off from that. He comes from rural Birmingham, Alabama, where spots are limited and college football reigns over everything. Jason luckily managed to bypass becoming a hick jock and instead just put out this standout part in the new Welcome full length, Fetish.
I’ll be honest, I hadn’t heard of Jason until the video was announced, but I became an instant fan after watching his part. I mouthed “What the fuck?!” more than a couple of times during this short-but-sweet segment (which is rare during these Insta-times), and I have a feeling you may too. Just look at that video thumbnail! This kid has got the style and trick selection of a Welcome rider, and a pinch of Dying to Live in him… just the right mix to make waves in 2017.
