Year-end compilation lists may be arbitrary and overdone, but when they focus on making fun of people, they’re at least more entertaining than whatever “family outing” you’re being roped into for the holidays.
Also, 2018 was a banner year for skateboarding and like we did last year, we want to rehash all the dumb memories before we’re forced to forget them and move into the dystopian future.
In 2018 we saw:
– ugly skate shoes become mainstream “rave” boots and boots become skate shoes
– blunts taken to new lengths and highs
– El Toro get way more action than most millennials
– Tyshawn become the indisputable trash king
– scooters clap back and booty cheeks get tapped
So to celebrate all this nonsense and more, we present Jenkem’s second annual list of skateboarding superlatives. Scroll on to enjoy or go straight to condemning us in the comments.

Puleo is a kook, sucks.

Actually Puleo is right, he’s saying the truth and I agree with him as well. He doesn’t care rubbing people the wrong way which is the most valuable trait in skateboarding.

it kinda changes a lot though, right? steve brandi isn’t just the guy from hopps and the static vids anymore, he’s showing us that lgbtq skaters have a strong place in the culture. the fact his sexuality is a conversation shows that it’s added an extra layer of meaning to his accomplishments.

Gayboard:
What does it change? How does it add meaning to his accomplishments?
If he recently came out it means most people didn’t know about it before and he still got as far as he did because he’s a person who’s good at what he’s doing apparently. What his turn-ons are has nothing to do with that and I can’t see why any rational person would ever come close to believing that.
