Skate stoppers are an unfortunate reality for skaters, but if you live in Southern California, you now have a masked hero who is alleviating these pains by unknobbing spots all across Los Angeles County for skaters to enjoy.
The Knob Buster, as he’s known, prefers to stay anonymous, but he’s still actively sharing his handiwork with the skate world via social media. He’s got an Instagram account cataloging the spots he’s freed up, and you can even tag posts on Instagram with #calltheknobbuster to let him know of a spot you think deserves to be freed from its shackles. Chances are he might make your dreams come true.
We had our friend Bobby Bils follow The Knob Buster for a day as he hit a couple of rails. After some close calls with onlookeres and a little elbow grease, LA was left with two more skateable spots (as if they needed any more). Check out The Knob Buster’s adventures in the player above and make sure to call him if you know of a spot in need — within reason, of course.

Maybe now Steve Berra can stop skating fake spots?

Steve Berra has an addiction to fake spots. He can’t help it.

Does Steve Berra even skateboard?

Remember John Gardner (the son of a wealthy plastic surgeon) giving that shop keeper a hard time in Street Sweeper? This is kinda like that. ‘Liberating’ knobs at some small business, likely with razor-thin profit margins, is really screwing a little guy.

You probably shop on amazon and get your grocery’s at Whole Foods but still make comments like this

Nope. And I don’t think I’m a dildo for wishing this guy would lay off small businesses. I’m Ok with him liberating spots at churches (they get ridiculous tax exemption) public parks and mega corporations campuses, etc.

Care to explain the hard time he gives her??
April 23, 2020 5:57 pm
Sorry, the interaction is NOT in the Street Sweeper video, in which he makes the trick (the ender) at night, when the store’s metal gate is down and there is no risk of property damage. In the Rough Cut, at 12:45, the shopkeeper is clearly agitated they won’t leave and they’re talking back. Anyway, they got the trick later, and it was even a Thrasher ‘Magnified.”

Yes in the Raw cut at the bump to bar on Wilson. Got it. A couple of quick words are exchanged with the salon owner nothing too rude or disrespectful and they take off and come back at a later date. Explain how that simple kick out and nothing more has anything to do with the Knob Buster? As well as mentioning John’s dad’s profession?

Oh man this dude is amazing. I love it. This is what I like seeing instead of dudes crying because the local skatepark had sand put in it. I like that he’s willing to risk it all by being on social media too. He doesn’t need to do that. A true saint for skateboarders! Looking forward to see what kind of spots get liberated!
