Okay okay, I know what you’re thinking.. Poison? Whitesnake? Maybe a bit unexpected from Sully’s preconceived punk rock image. Look, the eighties weren’t all bad though, with movies like The Goonies coming out, classic bands like Black Flag hitting their stride, and the inception of MTV before it became a reality TV nightmare, the abundance of shitty hair bands aren’t enough to write off the whole decade.
Spandex and glitter aside, Sully still came through with some choice selects as expected. Heatmiser, Elliot Smith’s early outfit before solo stardom, check. New York’s own crust legends Leftöver Crack, check. Two separate 8 minute classics from Red House Painters and No Trend? Check and check. I think the old adage goes, “don’t let one bad apple spoil the bunch,” or something like that, and that’s a metaphor we can all get behind. After all, we have Kurt Cobain to thank for rocking glam metal straight into a rose petaled grave… Always remember to count your blessings.
Headbang your little hearts out to this one next time you’re out skating, and peep some of our favorite Sully parts in Potluck and Play Dead.
Also, download the mix here while you can.

Poison and Whitesnake were wack even in the 80s. Keep that garbage dead and buried. If u wanna get gay, throw on your assless chaps and jam some Judas Priest…. Bill Stoebeck approved.
