Stationed in Gothenburg, Sweden is SKF – one of the world’s largest and oldest bearing manufacturing companies in the world. From Boeing jet engines to your spaghetti-stained microwave, chances are if you crack them open an SKF bearing will fall out.
Why does that matter? Well, SKF recently decided to reenter the skate bearing game, and since then they’ve built a roster of what sounds like every skate event’s VIP list. Kader, Louie, Ishod, Alexis, Tiago, Oski. Yeah, we don’t even have to write last names.
Since hearing of this star power, we had to know what this behemoth of a company wanted with the crumbs that is the skateboarding industry, so we hopped in the Jenkem private jet, aka Spirit Airlines economy, to do some digging. What we found was a skatepark inside a mountain, bearings large enough to crush a human and the true meaning of ABEC.
Enjoy, or as the Swedes say, Njut av!
