Joining the ever growing list of skateboarding exhibits within a museum, The Museum of the Moving Image in Queens, NY celebrated the opening of their new exhibit “Recording the Ride: The Rise of Street-Style Skate Videos” last month.
Curated by longtime skate videographer Jacob Rosenberg and Michaela A. Ternasky-Holland, filmmaker and daughter of Plan B’s Mike Ternasky, the show focuses on the videos that defined the stylings of skate videography.
The exhibit showcases Plan B’s video saga: Questionable, Virtual Reality and Second Hand Smoke. On the opening night Jacob joined Rick Howard and Matt Hensley to discuss Mike Ternasky’s impact on how we view skateboard videos today.
Enjoy an excerpt of that conversation, one that focuses on Jacob and Mike’s relationship, how Mike shaped the series that defined Plan B’s legacy, and the early days of skate videos.
